30-Day Writing Challenge, Day Eight: A Book You Love and One You Didn’t

When The Hunger Games first came out, I liked them, but couldn’t understand why.  That is, until I realized that my favourite childhood series was also by Suzanne Collins.

After my aunt bought me the first book one Christmas, I was hooked.  Who would’ve guessed that the same author would produce a worldwide phenomenon years later?

Now, I also love classic literature.  Rather absurdly, really.  However, there are two authors of this category— typically beloved authors— that I utterly can’t stand.

Mark Twain and John Steinbeck quite literally pain me to read.  I hate to admit it but, English major or not, I just can’t do it!
